THE EMMAUS JOURNEY
a faith-sharing group by email
for readers of the Daily Reflections
based on Luke 24:13-32
Two disciples were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem. They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; but they were kept from recognizing Him.
He asked them, "What are you discussing together as you walk along?"
... Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him, and He disappeared from their sight. They asked each other, "Were not our hearts burning within us while He talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?" (Luke 24:13-32)
In our journeys through life, we learn more about Jesus and how God is working in our everyday circumstances when we walk the road with others, sharing our insights, our questions, and new growth in relationship with Him. Are not our hearts burning within us whenever we do this? Just like the disciples on the road to Emmaus met Jesus in the stranger who walked with them, we too can meet Him in those with whom we share the Emmaus Journey faith-sharing group by email. Join us today!
Each week, Good News Ministries will provide a question based on the Gospel reading for the upcoming Catholic Sunday Mass. For that week, anyone who joins us on the Emmaus Journey may participate by sharing their faith, their questions, their discoveries, their spiritual insights with everyone on the list -- or even just by reading what others are saying!
NOTE: This discussion group is ONLY for those who read the Daily Reflections of Good News Ministries Online. Joining this email group is only possible by permission and is not open to the public. This ensures that we all have a common faith and are already on the same road, thus making it easier to understand each other and be understood in a safe community environment. If you are not yet a reader, please sign up now. You will then receive an invitation to join the Emmaus Journey.
See our guidelines for participation in this e-group.
